Porsche 944 Fuse Box

Porsche 944 DME Relay

9-5-2009

The "DME Relay" in the Porsche 944 is one of those parts that causes myriad and mysterious problems. Well, sometimes it's not mysterious. It's just, "my car doesn't start".

It is in the fuse box, right between '191' and that big silver dual relay thing.

I replaced mine when I bought the car (around 1997). Twelve years later, it was acting up again.

Anyway, I bought a new one (only $20 shipped!) and stuck the old one in the glove compartment as a backup.

The old one is the "Made in Hungary" one. The new one is an aftermarket replacement from "Uro Parts". They save some money by not silk screening it.

But it works fine.
